Language Access Plans | State of Illinois Office of the Illinois Courts

The Access to Justice Division oversees the development and implementation of Language Access Plans (LAPs) within each of the 24 judicial circuits in Illinois, based on a template approved by the Illinois Supreme Court. Each plan provides a framework for delivering meaningful language access services to Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals within the circuit.

This webpage does not directly host the individual Language Access Plans. If a circuit has a completed plan available online, users will be redirected to the circuit’s webpage where the plan is posted.

The plans may include information such as the circuit’s most frequently requested languages, multilingual notices or signage, language identification tools, interpreter qualification or screening procedures, the types of proceedings in which interpreters are provided, trainings related to language access, and goals for future improvements.
