ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The 4th Judicial Circuit is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant to coordinate office support activities and provide administrative assistance to the Chief Judge’s office.

Functions: Opens, dates and sorts incoming mail; Researches and compiles basic statistical and informational reports; Operates personal computer (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet or database applications) to draft correspondence involving matters of policy, meeting minutes, reports, tabulations and other materials; Processes purchase requisitions, invoices and travel vouchers; Maintains records, reports and files including: financial, personnel and inventory; Coordinates and maintains office filing systems; Photocopies materials, orders supplies, makes travel arrangements, schedules meetings and assists in preparation of seminars and conferences; Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of two (2) years’ office experience or education and training equivalent to an associate's degree in secretarial science or a related area is required; Legal background beneficial.

Selection Factors: Working knowledge of office procedures and office equipment such as personal computer and copier/printer/scanner/fax; Ability to organize work effectively and meet required deadlines and schedules; Ability to make decisions on established policies/standards and detect deviations from established policies; Associates with employees and public in a pleasant, courteous and helpful manner; Responds to change productively.
