Minimum: $61,132 - commensurate with experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Mandatory Arbitration Administrator is primarily responsible for the overall function of the Mandatory Arbitration Program and other Alternative Dispute Programs adopted by the 18th Judicial Circuit. In addition, the Mandatory Arbitration Administrator will assist the Circuit Court with various assignments.
FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Develops, implements and measures the effectiveness of operational plans and procedures.
- Identifies, prepares and analyzes statistical reports related to program effectiveness and provides recommendations or solutions to improve the program.
- Reviews and approves payroll reports and expenditure vouchers.
- Supervises office staff.
- Applies case flow management techniques to ensure efficiency and timeliness of case progression.
- Recruits and assists in the training of arbitrators.
- Plans and organizes training seminars and updates training manuals.
- Provides information through presentations about the arbitration program to the community.
- Assist the Presiding Judge of Arbitration with assigned projects.
- Coordinate the civil mediation program.
- Perform legal research and the preparation of memorandum at the request of the judges.
- The recruiting, training and supervision of staff attorneys.
- Work on special projects as assigned by the Chief Judge or Court Administrator.
- Assist with the recruiting and supervision of judicial interns.
- Serve as a resource concerning Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requests.
- Update and test the Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan each year.
- Serve on various court committees.
- Act as a legal resource for the various court departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Judge or Court Administrator.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Preferably a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a court, governmental or private sector legal organization. A LAW DEGREE AND ADMISSION TO THE ILLINOIS BAR IS REQUIRED.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time. This is a normal office environment requiring telephone usage and the ability to process written documents.
SALARY:
Annual salary range $61,132 to $82,500; salary at hire to be commensurate with education and experience.
