Appellate Court Judicial Secretary/Law Clerk

Justice Mathias W. Delort of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, seeks a judicial secretary/law clerk to begin employment on approximately November 15, 2021. The judicial secretary/law clerk will prepare draft opinions and orders, work on research projects, and carry out some administrative duties. The Illinois Appellate Court handles both criminal and civil cases, covering a wide variety of issues across the legal spectrum.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Qualified attorneys will have a superb academic record, extensive writing, research, and analytical skills, and a desire to work in an appellate environment. Applicants must be admitted to the Illinois bar. Applicants who have not already been admitted to the Illinois bar should not apply.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time. This is a professional office working environment requiring telephone usage and the ability to process written documents.
