Illinois judges receive recognition and awards

Illinois judges are increasingly being recognized for their dedicated work in courtrooms throughout the state. Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges:

  • Cook County Circuit Court Judge Robert F. Harris and Retired First District Illinois Appellate Court Justice Mathias W. Delort were honored on October 4, 2023, by the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago at the 89th Votive Red Mass of the Holy Spirit. Judge Harris was the recipient of the Special Service Award and Justice Delort was the recipient of the Catholic Lawyer of the Year award.
  • 16th Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Clint Hull was honored on October 5, 2023, by the Lawyers Assistance Program (LAP) as the recipient of the Hon. John Powers Crowley Award, which is awarded to a member of the judiciary who has contributed to the goals and mission of LAP, at the 2023 Lawyers Assistance Program Awards Celebration at Brookfield Zoo. Supreme Court Justice Mary Kay O'Brien served as guest speaker for the program.
  • 3rd Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Stephen Stobbs was honored on October 5, 2023, by the Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC) as the recipient of the IDC Distinguished Service Award for his years of service to the citizens of Illinois at the IDC Judicial Reception at the Wildey Theatre in Edwardsville, Ill.
  • 19th Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Mark L. Levitt was honored on October 18, 2023, by the Jewish Judges Association of Illinois as the recipient of the 2023 Honorable Richard J. Elrod Public Service Award at the 19th Annual Jewish Judges Association of Illinois Justice, Lifetime Achievement, and Public Service Awards and Installation Dinner.
