Illinois judges receive recognition and awards | State of Illinois Office of the Illinois Courts

Illinois judges are increasingly being recognized for their dedicated work in courtrooms throughout the state. Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges:

• 19^th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Veronica O’Malley was honored on July 25, 2025, by the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) and Chicago Bar Foundation (CBF) as the recipient of the Justice Thomas L. Kilbride Public Service Award at the CBA and CBF’s 27th Annual Pro Bono and Public Service Awards Luncheon in Chicago.
• 18^th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Chantelle Porter was honored on July 29, 2025, by the National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division (NBA/WLD) an award nominee for Excellence in the Judiciary at their Gertrude E. Rush Annual Breakfast in Chicago. The theme, “Pioneers & Powerhouses: A Century of Women Legal Leadership,” celebrated the legacy and future of women who have shaped and continue to shape the legal profession.
• Cook County Circuit Court Judge Sophia H. Hall will be honored on September 24, 2025, by the Cook County Bar Association as the recipient of the Judge Timothy C. Evans Judicial Award at their Judges’ Night event in Chicago.
