If you could live in any fictional world, which would it be and why?
Pandora from the Avatar movies. These movies are a favorite of my husband, and I would love to share the adventure with him.
What is your “guilty pleasure” movie or TV show?
Any of the Pitch Perfect Movies. They are lighthearted and entertaining. And I am always impressed with acapella singing.
What is a subject you could teach a college course on?
A survey of Southern Ireland’s landmarks. I have traveled to Ireland a few times in my youth. I enjoyed the people and culture and would love an excuse to learn more and go back to visit.
What is a skill you recently learned?
Pilates, I am trying to be more cognizant of self-care.
What was your favorite family tradition growing up? Have you created one of your own?
My father always hosts our extended family, and anyone else who wanted to join us, for Christmas Eve. Our home was filled with laughter, carols, good food and decorations.
Once I had my own children I took on the duties of hosting Christmas. Again, extending to family and friends. Rather than exchanging gifts, the adult family members participate in a white elephant gift giving. It is fun to see what “treasurers” are offered. And to see which gifts are stolen or left behind. The younger kids cannot wait until they are allowed to participate.
What is the one thing you’ve done in life that you’re most proud of?
Raising my four children. I am fortunate to have been a part of their lives. I am the mother of four outstanding, unique, humble, kind people who I know will have amazing impacts on their communities.
If you could wake up tomorrow and be an expert in one thing, what would you choose?
Singing. I sang in choir in my youth and a bit in college. It is a skill I miss. It can bring joy at a wedding, solace during funeral service, respect at a sporting event, or amazement went belting out a song in the car with my kids.
