Statewide E-Filing
DuPage County Circuit Court was approved to implement an electronic filing program for civil case types on June 25, 2013, and for criminal case types, including citations, on October 10, 2014.
EFFECTIVE January 1, 2016 - New civil cases, as well as pleadings in existing civil matters, are required to be filed electronically at the Electronic Filing Website indicated below.
Electronic Guilty Pleas
On May 7, 2008, DuPage County was approved to begin accepting electronic guilty pleas from offenders in minor traffic and conservation offenses under Supreme Court Rule 529, and in accordance with Supreme Court Order M.R. 18368 and the revised Standards for Accepting Electronic Pleas of Guilty.
E-Citation Program
On February 26, 2015, DuPage County was approved by the Conference of Chief Circuit Judges to operate an e-Citation program.
Electronic Transfer of Record on Appeal to Second District Appellate Court
On April 25, 2014, the Illinois Supreme Court filed M.R. 18368, which authorized the continued electronic transfer of the record on appeal from 12 counties to the Second District Appellate Court, on a pilot basis pursuant to the amended "Policy for Implementation of the Electronic Transfer of the Record on Appeal Originating in the Circuit Courts of Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, DuPage, Jo Daviess, Kendall, Lake, Lee, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago Counties to the Appellate Court, Second District."
On August 3, 2011, the Illinois Supreme Court filed M.R. 18368, which authorized the electronic transfer of the record on appeal originating in Ogle and DuPage Counties to the Second District Appellate Court on a pilot basis.
Under the continued pilot, Circuit Clerks shall electronically transfer the record on appeal to the Second District Appellate Court Clerk. A paper copy shall be created and transported only if requested by the Second District Appellate Court Clerk. The pilot will allow attorneys, parties and appellate justices to electronically view, access and work from the electronic record on appeal. The pilot makes the physical transfer of the record unnecessary, removes the cost of repeatedly transporting the record back and forth from the Appellate Clerk's office.
Electronic Record (E-Record)
On June 27, 2014, DuPage County was approved to designate the electronic record as the official record for civil cases in DuPage County Circuit Court, in accordance with the Standards.
