Illinois Judges Receive Recognition and Awards

Illinois judges are increasingly being recognized for their dedicated work in courtrooms throughout the state. Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges:

  • Cook County Circuit Judge Mary K. Marubio was honored on June 29, 2021, by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office as a recipient of the Pride Celebration Service Award at their 12th Annual Pride Recognition and Awards Ceremony.
  • Cook County Circuit Judge Maxwell Griffin, Jr., was honored on July 16, 2021, as the inaugural recipient of the Justice Thomas L. Kilbride Public Service Award at the Chicago Bar Association and Chicago Bar Foundation’s Pro Bono and Public Service Awards Luncheon. This new award honors unsung attorneys and judges.
  • 22nd Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Johnson was honored this month by the Illinois State Bar Association as the recipient of the Civic Education Award, which honors individuals who have helped educate the public about civics and the legal system.
  • The Honorable Annette A. Eckert (Ret.) will be honored on September 13, 2021, as one of the St. Louis Women of Achievement for her work as the volunteer St. Clair County Teen Court Director for the last five years.
