Illinois Judges Receive Recognition and Awards - March 26, 2019

Illinois judges are increasingly being recognized for their dedicated work in courtrooms throughout the state. Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges:

  • Supreme Court Justice P. Scott Neville, Jr. and former Supreme Court Justice Charles E. Freeman were honored for the work throughout their careers on March 6, 2019, by the Appellate Lawyers Association. Justice Neville and Justice Freeman both served on the First District Appellate Court before their elevation to the high court.
  • 19th Circuit Judge Elizabeth M. Rochford was honored on March 19, 2019, as a recipient of the Access to Justice Award by the Lake County Bar Association. The Access to Justice Award is presented to a Lake County Bar Association member who has provided or supported legal services to low-income clients, and who has made a particularly significant or meaningful contribution to the provision of low-income legal services.
  • 3rd Circuit Chief Judge David A. Hylla will be honored on May 9, 2019, as a recipient of Head Start’s Circle of Care Award by Riverbend Head Start & Family Services. Judge Hylla and his wife Anita are co-recipients of the award for their contributions and volunteerism in Madison County.
