The Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts partnered with Marion County and the National Drug Court Institute (NDCI) to coordinate a Regional Treatment Provider Training at Kaskaskia College in Centralia for 50 problem-solving court team members, including probation personnel and treatment providers, from all over the state.

The one-day training includes information surrounding the neurobiology of addiction and latest information on medications in addiction treatment and recovery management. The training outlines strategies for treating substance use disorders and steps treatment providers can take to screen, assess, and plan treatment schedules with the criminal justice field. These topics and more will help connect treatment providers across the nation with the most up-to-date science and research needed to facilitate advanced addiction treatment. Illinois was one of 20 selected out of 463 applicants to receive the training from NDCI.
