October 27, 2020

Kane County Children's Waiting Room (CWR) reopened on October 5, 2020 at 8:45am. Located at the Kane County Judicial Center (37W777 IL- 38, St. Charles, IL), the CWR was closed by Executive Order of the Court on March 17, 2020 and has remained closed following Governor's Orders and CDC guidance for daycare centers. The CWR which provides daycare for the children of parties in court, reopened with many COVID-19 related restrictions in place. The Kane County Bar Foundation operates the program, and has approved a reopening plan that follows the guidance of the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services, Illinois Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control, and the 16th Judicial Circuit Court.

The CWR will now require reservations to be made for a child to be accepted for care. The reservations may be made via telephone 630-232-3954 or online at www.kanecountybarfoundation.org. Limited space is available. The parent and child must complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire prior to beginning the registration process.
Children that exhibit any symptoms of the virus will not be accepted for care. Those children over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask while they are in the CWR. Parents must bring a change of clothes for each child and there will be cubbies available located outside of the CWR for parents to utilize.

The Children's Waiting Room has been completely redesigned to provide the optimal space for social distancing according to guidelines. Children will be allowed to have a secure place to play that restricts their potential exposure to the general public. CWR staff will be utilizing several types of personal protection equipment to ensure the least amount of exposure for all parties.
