Chief Justice P. Scott Neville, Jr. and justices of the Illinois Supreme Court joined the Appellate Lawyers Association of Illinois (ALA) for a luncheon on April 10 at the Union League Club of Chicago.

Chief Justice Neville delivered remarks on the rule of law and the growing number of self-represented litigants—approximately 70%—who are navigating the legal system without representation. He emphasized the responsibility of attorneys to provide pro bono services, even on a limited-scope basis, and issued a call to action encouraging ALA members to leverage their talents in service of those in need.
