The Illinois Supreme Court introduced this month a new Courthouse and Building Closure Policy & Form for when weather or other hazardous or emergency conditions compromise the safety or welfare of personnel or citizens.

The new Policy and Form replaces the previous Courthouse Closure Request Form in order to streamline the process for emergency closing of court facilities.

The Policy indicates under whose authority Supreme Court Offices, the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, individual Appellate Courts, and individual Circuit Courts can be closed.
