Appellate Judge Mary Anne Mason

Mary Anne Mason graduated from Boston College (B.A., magna cum laude, '74) and Loyola University School of Law (J.D. '77), where she served as Lead Articles Editor for the Loyola University School of Law Journal. She was a judicial law clerk for Justice Daniel J. McNamara of the Illinois Appellate Court, an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois and in private practice with the law firm of Kevin M. Forde, Ltd. before her appointment to the circuit court in 2000. She was elected in 2002 and served in the Chancery Division from 2004 through 2013, when she was assigned to the Appellate Court, First District. Judge Mason is a frequent presenter at judicial education seminars and is a past member and chair of the Supreme Court Committee on Discovery Procedures, a current member of the Appellate Court Administrative Committee of the Supreme Court, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Bar Foundation, and co-chair of the Circuit Court of Cook County's Pro Se Advisory Committee.
