Tom M. Lytton was born on Oct. 6, 1943, in Raleigh, NC. He received his B.A. degree from Northwestern University in 1965, a certificate of graduation from International School of Law, The Hague, Holland, in 1967, and a J.D. degree from Northwestern University Law School in 1968. Judge Lytton was an attorney with VISTA in Charleston, WV (1968-69), with Neighborhood Legal Services in Pittsburgh, PA (1969-73), a partner in the firm of Lytton, Lytton & Sutton (1973-92) and a special Assistant Attorney General (1981-92). He was elected to the Third District Appellate Court in 1992. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1968, the California Bar in 1976 and the Arizona Bar in 1986. Judge Lytton is the author of an article, "Crossing State Lines to Practice Law," published in the American University Law Review, 1970. He and his wife, Mary Lind Lytton, have one child.
