ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Account Analyst reviews and processes personnel change forms for eligible probation and court services personnel and reimbursement invoice vouchers from circuit/county probation departments to ensure compliance with the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts standards and policies. Functions include:  Performing analyses and fiscal reviews to ensure calculations and county probation salary expenditures are accurate and consistent with the Administrative Office standards and guidelines prior to processing voucher claims; inputting information and maintaining approved personnel list in the Probation Personnel System (PPS); reconciling the allocation balances and discrepancies in PPS daily; assisting in compiling and/or reviewing probation department salary information; maintaining communication with county personnel relative to compensation and reimbursement claims.       

SELECTION FACTORS: Ability to critically review compensation plans, collective bargaining agreements, variances and/or supplements and applying analytical and interpretive skills in determining allowable salary adjustments and expenditures; maintaining files and records for review and audit purposes; planning, organizing,  implementing and maintaining a variety of functions simultaneously and meeting required deadlines and schedules; working for extended period of time on highly detailed documents and computations; applying initiative to complete assignments; ability to work independently or in a team environment and to establish/maintain positive relationships with others.  Demonstrated skills include: accuracy, priority setting, sound decision-making, problem-solving, detail-oriented, and analytical interpretive skills.  Knowledge and experience with computer applications and calculator. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive personnel information is required.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:   Associate's degree from an accredited university or college with major coursework in business, accounting, or related field.   A high school diploma and three years of demonstrated experience in accounting, budgeting or auditing can be substituted for the Associate's degree.  
 
Preferred:   Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with major coursework in business, accounting, social sciences or related field.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability to sit for extended time periods.  Normal office working environment requiring telephone usage and ability to process written documents.
